Upper Bucks Community Fund

Geographic Affiliate Fund

Upper Bucks Community Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation

The Upper Bucks Community Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation is a great way for philanthropically-minded people to give back to their community. The fund is directed by the Upper Bucks Advisory Board which is composed of local community leaders focused on growing local giving, issuing grants to local nonprofit organizations, and organizing resources to meet local needs.  The Upper Bucks Advisory Board is an important philanthropic arm of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation (LVCF). Their intimate knowledge of the people and organizations which serve the community is extremely valuable and results in careful and thoughtful grantmaking in Upper Bucks County.

LVCF established this geographic affiliate—Upper Bucks Community Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation in 2018. The foundation fund is an extension of the Upper Bucks Grants Committee’s previous role in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.

The Committee has a long history of making a positive impact in the Upper Bucks community, most notably, by directing resources from two area-of-interest funds at LVCF, the Erwin J. & Gertrude K. Neusch Fund, and the Richard E. Gasser Fund, which help fund organizations and programs primarily serving the Palisades, Pennridge and Quakertown School Districts in the Upper Bucks area. Recently added to Upper Bucks umbrella, The Bucks County Free Library Endowment Fund is an agency fund that benefits the seven-branch county library system with locations in Bensalem, Doylestown, Langhorne, Levittown, Perkasie, Quakertown, and Yardley-Makefield.

Another fund supporting the Upper Bucks community is the Nancy S. & Charles E. Keenan Endowment Fund that provides grants to the Pennridge Community Senior Center for programming and outreach.

The advisory board of the Upper Bucks Community Foundation Fund establishes its own priorities, direct grants from discretionary funds, and cultivates donors to raise new funds and continue to grow endowments that are already in place.
