The Heydt Family Fund
In 2016, the Heydt Family Fund was established as a donor advised fund for legacy giving by former Mayor of Allentown, Bill Heydt, and his wife, Mary Ann.
The Heydt family has been positively contributing to the Lehigh Valley community since 1964 with the establishment of Heydt Insurance Agency, Inc. The business is now owned by his son, Joseph Heydt, and continues to provide service to the community.
Bill Heydt served as the Mayor of Allentown from 1994-2002, providing instrumental guidance in the redevelopment of the Plaza at the PPL Center and establishing the “Lights in the Parkway” Christmas Display in Little Lehigh Parkway.
Bill and Mary Ann are long-time supporters of the Allentown Symphony Association. Bill has served as the Chair of the Symphony’s Facilities Committee, working to improve the arts programs in the region.
The Heydt family’s deep investment in the community inspired them to establish this fund to continue to benefit the people of Allentown with the help of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.
