Equi-librium Therapeutic Horsemanship Fund
The Equi-librium Therapeutic Horsemanship Fund serves as one of Equi-librium’s endowments and provides an annual grant to support the organization’s mission. The Fund was established by an anonymous donor who generously wished to make a permanent impact.
Equi-librium was founded in 2001 to serve children, youth and adults from Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties of Eastern Pennsylvania who face physical, developmental and/or psycho-social challenges. It is the successor organization to the former Easter Seals’ RISE program. Using the calming, accepting environment of an 18-acre rural farm as a backdrop, the Nazareth organization works with “bomb-proof” horses to provide therapeutic, motivational and educational programs six days a week, year ‘round. Over 100 individuals and groups come to the farm every week to participate in highly effective programs that help children with autism, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, at-risk behaviors, and those who require an experiential learning curriculum, as well as adults affected by Parkinsons, stroke, MS and more. Programs offered include HIppotherapy, Summer Camp, Therapeutic/Recreational Riding, Equine-Assisted Learning, Farm Visits, Carriage Driving, Silver Saddles and a Vocational training component.
Equi-librium is an approved Educational Improvement Tax Credit Organization under the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s EITC Program, a Premier Accredited Center of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) and a Partner Agency of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
